Water Platform

India-EU water innovation platform
The aim of the platform is to facilitate the setting up of joint India-EU research and/or innovation projects in the water sector. The platform supports the implementation of the “Water for Life” vision document, that was created in 2013 by the Group of Senior Officials (GSO) from India and Europe. The focus areas are:

- Drinking water quality

- Waste water treatment

- Urban water management


On 5-6 September 2016, INDIGO POLICY is organising a workshop on water & industry. During these 2 days stakeholders from industry, research, policy come together to share best practices from India and EU and to define joint solutions for the paper- and sugar industry in the Hindon basin. On 1-2 April 2014, INDIGO POLICY coorganised a twinning event in New Delhi. With 20 participants from Europe and 70 from India, the event resulted in a  series of action plans for concrete projects. In the coming years,  INDIGO POLICY will support the implementation of these action plans.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency ( is in the lead for this project task; CSIR (India) and DLR (Germany) take part as partners.
