2013: Focus: Health, 22-23 October 2013, Paris, France

The fourth edition of the EU-India STI Cooperation Days was held in Paris on 10th-11th October 2013, with a thematic focus on affordable health. This event was jointly organised by New INDIGO, EBTC and the European Commission and brought together 150 stakeholders from the business and research communities on Health. With a high attendance rate from the Indian side and more than 17 European countries represented, the event mobilised the research and business communities from both regions and was a tremendous opportunity for partnering.

Following the first meeting of the GSO in Brussels on 8th October 2013, the event was also an opportunity to present the first draft of the Strategic Agenda for Research and Innovation, a joint EU-India Agenda rehearsing research priorities. “For now, we have identified 3 priorities “Chronic non-communicable diseases with initial focus on diabetes; Infectious diseases and Neurodegenerative and Diseases and we are discussing the possibility for a flagship initiative” stressed Benedikt Sas, member of the GSO thematic group on Health.

The two-day event programme offered the participants a wide variety of sessions. Discussions focused mainly on the innovation gaps which need to be addressed to bring new services and products to the market, as well as on the success factors for EU-India collaboration. 2012: Focus: Water, 8-9 November 2012, Hyderabad, India

The third edition of the EU-India STI Cooperation Days was held in Hyderabad on 8 and 9 November 2012, with a thematic focus on water-related challenges.The programme offerec a wide variety of sessions including key-note speeches from policy makers, scientific conference, networking event and technology transfer panel discussion. 2011: Focus: Biotechnology and Health, 1-2 December 2011, Vienna, Austria

The second edition of the EU-India STI Cooperation Days was held in Vienna on 1-2 December 2011, with a thematic focus on biotechnology and health. The event, jointly organized by three EU funded projects, EUINEC, New INDIGO and INDIA GATE and hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research, brought together 150 stakeholders from Europe and India: scientists, policy makers as well as industry representatives.

The programme contained a scientific conference, panel discussions, a dedicated session on doing business and innovation in India, as well as a brokerage event for match making – the Vienna Researchers’ Café. Find more information on the event on the event summary and download the presentations at

2009: Focus: Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology & Health, 4-6 November 2009, New Delhi

The first edition of EU-India STI Cooperation Days took place in New Delhi, India at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, 4-6 November 2009. The organisers of the event are, in cooperation with New INDIGO, EUINEC, BIOCIRCLE and the EBTC. The event focused on the following topics: Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology and Health.
